Pewaukee priest returns to ministry after accusations of assault dismissed

PEWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Pewaukee priest once accused of sexually assaulting a minor will return to public ministry this week.
Father Chuck Hanel had been accused of assaulting a 13-year-old in December of 2017 at Queen of Apostles Church.
A criminal case against him was dismissed in Waukesha County.
The Archdiocese says an internal investigation determined the allegations were false, and that Hanel should return to ministry.
He will continue his work at Queen of Apostles parish Monday, Aug. 3.
