Pet of the Week: Darla, 3-month-old lab mix

Darla, a 3-month-old Lab/Retriever mix, is this week's "Pet of the Week" from the Wisconsin Humane Society. She came to the Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. She has already been spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Puppies are a commitment, and Darla will need to be house trained.

"You need to make sure that your lifestyle is able to handle the amount of change that's going to come when you bring a puppy into the home," said Sharon Rodarmel, from the Humane Society.

The Humane Society offers same-day adoptions. If it's a match, there will be an on-site counseling session to ensure the personality is a good fit. New owners will go home with a free bag of pet food, 30 days of pet insurance and a gift certificate for a veterinary appointment.

For more information, visit the humane society website or call (414) ANIMALS.
