Police identify 54-year-old man fatally shot in Racine

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting near Walnut Street as 54-year-old Darrle Dotson.

No one is in custody at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting.

It happened around 8:21 p.m. in the 900 block of Walnut Street.

Police were called to the area for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 54-year-old man who had been shot in the leg.

Lifesaving measures were attempted and the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A person of interest was taken into custody.

Racine Police are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this shooting.
