MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Penfield Children’s Center is currently enrolling children in its Head Start and Early Head Start programs, which provide free early education services for qualifying Milwaukee families.
The nonprofit has provided early intervention care in the city for nearly six decades.
Ana Cortez, director of early education and care, and Hector Ortega, intake coordinator, joined us Tuesday, June 17 to talk about the range of support available for children ages 4 weeks to 5 years.
The programming they discussed includes classroom-based instruction, outdoor play areas and weekly in-home visits. Families receiving public assistance, experiencing housing instability or meeting income criteria may qualify for free enrollment.
