Pedestrian struck near UWM campus

MILWAUKEE -- A 66-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life September 23 after being hit by a car near the UWM campus.
The North Shore Fire Department confirmed the details in a tweet just after 8 a.m. September 23.
Officials said the man suffered serious injuries after he was hit while walking in a crosswalk at Edgewood and Maryland avenues, right near Downer Woods.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The accident remains under investigation.
