WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Elm Grove police have identified the man hit and killed while trying to cross Bluemound Road as 50-year-old Jose Hernandez of Milwaukee. 

Police say he tried to cross at a point in the road where there was no crosswalk. 

The driver who hit the man stayed at the scene. No citations have been issued.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 50-year-old man was killed while trying to cross Bluemound Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Elm Grove Police Department, the man from Milwaukee was attempting to cross from the north side to the south side of Bluemound Road when he was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound. 

He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Brookfield Police and the Wisconsin State Patrol are assisting with the traffic accident.

The incident remains under investigation.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The City of Brookfield Police Department is currently investigating a fatal accident.

According to police, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car around 1:50 p.m. on Saturday.

It happened near the intersection of Bluemound Road and Fairway Drive. 

According to a nearby business, it appears that someone was crossing Bluemound Road when they were hit.

Police are on scene investigating but say the roads should be back open by 5 p.m.

Police are still working to identify the victim. 

More information is expected to be released later today.
