UW-Milwaukee's hopes to take the Horizon League Tournament, and with it an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, ended Sunday with a 70-61 loss to the rival Phoenix of UW-Green Bay Sunday.
Jordan Johnson scored 18 points, including a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line, to lead the Panthers. Cold shooting plagued some of UWM's better players in the loss, as Matt Tiby and Austin Arians combined to hit just four shots on the day.
Milwaukee sits at 20-13 as it hopes for a bid to a postseason tournament. Green Bay moves on to face Valpo Monday in the Horizon League Tournament semifinals.
