RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Lonnie McGuire had to get creative and find ways to teach preschoolers virtually when pandemic restrictions went into place in March 2020. Since then, he has found a new passion in puppets and creating a set with supplies available to him at his home.
“This is the old doorbell. I plug them into here and this is my footswitch so I can turn it on,” said McGuire talking about a piece of the set he created. “This is all made out of just junk I found around.”
McGuire is working in the classroom a few days a week but, for the most part, is working virtually. He said he is excited for students to return to the classroom on March 1.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Meghan Reistad visited McGuire’s home studio where he’s brought teaching virtually to the next level.
