PALMYRA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Palmyra-Eagle area school district is the first in state to have electric buses.
The district, along with its partner, Dousman Transport Company, invited the community to celebrate the new fleet on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
The buses are funded through the Environmental Protection Agency and the Clean School Bus Program award.
14 other Wisconsin schools are getting grant money to get electric buses in the future.
"Part of this initiative not only allows us to bring clean school buses to the community, but also a chance to do some savings so we can keep our dollars in the classroom for our students," said Ryan Krohn, District Administrator.
