Packers sign General Manager Ted Thompson to new contract

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers have announced General Manager Ted Thompson has signed a new multi-year contract. Thompson is entering his 10th season with the Green Bay Packers.

Thompson is credited with building the Green Bay Packers into one of the NFL's strongest franchises. \"His outstanding work has been the key factor in the success that we've enjoyed in recent years,\" says Packers CEO Mike Murphy. \"I have tremendous respect for Ted, and am confident that we will continue to contend for championships under his leadership.\"

Since Thompson has been the Packers General Manager the team has compiled 92 victories, and a Super Bowl victory. The Packers are one of only eight teams to play in 10 or more playoff games since 2005.
