Packers sign defensive end Kruger to practice squad

The Packers filled an open spot on their practice squad Tuesday with the addition of defensive end Joe Kruger, a former second round draft pick of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kruger, who started 37 of 38 in his college career at Utah, spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve after injuring his shoulder during the 2013 preseason. Kruger spent time in training camp with the Eagles and Chargers in 2014 but was released by both teams.

The Packers promoted wide receiver Kevin Dorsey off the practice squad Monday, and released tight end Ryan Taylor the same day.
