Packers rookies take part in ceremonial DreamDrive tradition during Saturday's practice

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Green Bay Packers rookies continue tradition by taking part in ceremonial DreamDrive tradition during Saturday's practice, Aug. 29, including donating autographed Schwinn bikes to local charities.

While the COVID-19 pandemic halted Packers players from participating in the traditional American Family Insurance DreamDrive bike experience, several rookie players still took their first DreamDrive ride today, traveling to practice from Lambeau Field on brand new Schwinn bicycles.

The Packers rookies rode the bikes over to Ray Nitschke Field and autographed the bikes following their rides.

According to a news release, eight of the autographed bikes will be donated to local charities to be used as auction items to raise money for their causes. The benefiting charities are yet to be released.

The Packers and American Family Insurance have partnered on DreamDrive since 2014. The Packers and the Madison-based insurance company have been partners since 2005.
