Packers notes: Team signs punter; WR Allison will not play

The Green Bay Packers are signing a punter, the team announced late Saturday afternoon. With the addition, the Packers are currently carrying two punters.

Drew Kaser, a third-year player out of Texas A&M, was signed by the Packers. Kaser was last with the Los Angeles Chargers (formerly San Diego). San Diego drafted him in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The Chargers released him on Oct. 3.

Kaser appeared in 36 career games, averaging 47.4 yards (40.2-yard net avg.) on 146 punts. His career-long punt traveled 69 yards. Kaser will wear No. 10 for the Packers.

JK Scott, a rookie from Alabama, is the team's current punter. He is not listed on any injury report.

This season, Scott is averaging 45.3 yards per punt. He has punted the ball 27 times in seven games.

In injury news, the Packers are officially declaring WR Geronimo Allison (hamstring/groin) out for Sunday's game. Allison will not travel with the team to New England.
