Packers and Saints moved to Jacksonville on Sept. 12

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS 58) -- The New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers have found their spot to open the season.

The NFL announced the Saints will play the Packers at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

The game will remain in the same time slot, at 3:25 p.m. (CST) on Sept. 12.

The game was supposed to happen on the Saints home turf, Caesars Superdome, but the aftermath of Hurricane Ida forced a move.

According to a release from the NFL, the decision was made, in consultation with state and local officials and both clubs, in the interest of public safety.
