Packers Activate Receiver, Place Tretter on Injured Reserve

Dealing with several injuries at wide receiver, the Green Bay Packers are promoting WR Max McCaffrey to the active roster from the practice squad, the Packers announced Saturday.

To make room for McCaffrey, the Packers placed C/G JC Tretter on injured reserve.

McCaffrey is a 6-foot-2, 200 pound rookie from Duke. He has been with the Packers' practice squad since Dec. 20. McCaffrey was originally signed by the Oakland Raiders back in May as an undrafted free agent, but was released on Aug. 29.

During his four years at Duke, McCaffrey made 117 catches for 1,341 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. He will wear No. 13 for the Packers.
