On Tuesday, May 9 at approximately 5:25 PM the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to a house fire at 713 N 4th Street. First in units indicated that there was smoke and flames showing from the second floor of the home and while fighting the fire discovered it had extended into the attic.
Firefighters had to pull the ceilings and walls on the second floor to confirm that the fire which had extended into these areas had been completely extinguished.
Firefighters were on scene for about three hours.
Two people were home at the time of the fire. One injured person was taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries and escaping to safety from a second story window. The other person was not injured.
The home sustained substantial fire damage to the second floor as well as smoke and water damage to the rest of the home. Damage to the house and property is estimated at $120,000.
