One killed, one in custody after three-vehicle crash in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead and two others critically injured after a three-vehicle crash investigators say was caused by an intoxicated driver.

The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on CTH E east from STH 26 near Horicon in Dodge County. Investigators say a 2008 Chrysler 300 crossed the center line, hitting a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. The Chrysler then hit a 2007 Ford Focus that had been behind the Chevrolet.

Four people were inside the Ford Focus. The front seat passenger was killed in the crash, the driver was flown to the hospital with critical injuries, and two occupants in the back seat were treated at a nearby hospital. The driver of the Chrysler was also flown to a hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet was treated and released.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the Chrysler has been arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), with a blood sample pending.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is the lead investigative agency for the case. At this time, police are not releasing any names until family has been notified.
