One Dead, Two Injured in Head-on Collision in Rock County

A 26-year-old Beloit man was killed in a head-on collision on State Highway 59 near Edgerton Sunday afternoon.  According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, George Dudley Davis was pronounced dead at the scene of the two vehicle accident around 12:48 PM.  A passenger in the vehicle driven by Davis, 26-year-old Paul Stamp of Janesville, was transported to the Mercy Hospital where he was reported to be in serious condition.  The driver of the second vehicle, 38-year-old Megan Haney of Milton was airlifted by helicopter to the UW-Hospital in critical condition.  All three were pinned in their vehicles following the crash and had to be extricated by the Milton Fire Department.

According to the Rock County Sheriff, witness reported that the Oldsmobile Bravado driven by Davis was traveling west on HWY 59 when it crossed over the center line into eastbound traffic, colliding head-on with the Dodge Caravan driven by Haney.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident.
