MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Service to others was the focus during the Salvation Army of Milwaukee County's annual OTHERS Luncheon.
People and businesses were honored for their efforts in helping people in the community.
Three-time Olympian Lolo Jones was the featured speaker at the event.
She spoke to CBS 58 about how the Salvation Army helped her mother and her family when she was growing up.
"It's only by the help of the Salvation Army and their support that she was able to provide for five kids, Christmas presents for five kids, school supplies for five kids, backpacks, even things that we don't necessarily think about, having a safe haven to go to, that allowed my mom to work two jobs," Jones said.
CBS 58's Michael Schlesinger emceed Monday's event.
