Officer injured after responding to domestic violence incident in Hales Corners

HALES CORNERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An officer was injured in Hales Corners after responding to a domestic violence incident on Saturday, July 6.

It happened near Copeland and 112th around 11 a.m. 

Police say that officers encountered a 43-year-old man with a "lengthy criminal history" armed with two knives. 
Officers from Greendale and Franklin police departments responded to assist. 

Police say less lethal options were deployed and the 43-year-old male was taken into custody with minor injuries. 

During the incident, an officer was injured and is being treated at a local hospital. 

The 43-year-old man was arrested.

Police say charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office.
