(OCONOWOMOC) - There's no place like home, especially this week in Oconomowoc. It was 80 years ago on Monday when this historic lake country community in Waukesha County hosted an original screening of the Wizard of Oz.
To celebrate, the iconic film will be shown on a big screen in the heart of downtown on Thursday, and fans can take selfies and a trip back in time at a new plaza featuring the yellow brick road and life-sized statues of the main characters.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Michael Schlesinger visits Wisconsin’s merry old land of Oz for a look ahead to this magical milestone event.
