OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics in Milan are only a couple of weeks away. But in Oconomowoc, a group of Wisconsin's next batch of athletes had the chance to go for gold.
From basketball to volleyball, these kids got the chance to try out a number of sports at the YMCA at Pabst Farms. And there to help guide them along the way was a five-time gold medalist -- former U.S. speedskater and Olympian Bonnie Blair Cruikshank.
She says days like this are all about getting some exercise during the harsh winter weather.
"At the end of the day, it is all about movement, getting your body moving, being active, and for kids to get off their phone and be an overall well-rounded person," Cruikshank said.
To help make it all happen, current athletes from Oconomowoc High School volunteered to lead different stations.
