Big Bend approves first phase of Breck Athletic Complex development

CBS 58 BIG BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The first phase of a large sports complex has cleared a big hurdle in Big Bend.
The village board approved a planned unit development district request and a conditional use permit for phase one of the Breck Athletic Complex.
The development will be on the southeast corner of 164 and Town Line Road.
The first phase has plans for four outdoor soccer fields, with about 170 parking spaces. People who live in the area spoke against the complex at the meeting.
They brought concerns over bright lights at night, increased traffic, and the potential need for more police and fire resources because of the complex.
The board passed the measure on a majority voice vote.
