Oak Creek man accused of shooting wife before attempting suicide

OAK CREEK -- 76-year-old Jack Lang of Oak Creek is facing First Degree Intentional Homicide charges after killing his wife June Lang in their home just before trying to kill himself.

According to the criminal complaint, Lang drove his legally blind wife to the Firepit restaurant inside Potawatomi Bingo and Casino in downtown Milwaukee. Lang told police his wife began calling him a baby and began \"giving him hell\" when he wanted to leave the restaurant. Lang said he we wanted to leave, because he wasn't feeling well.

Lang told investigators he and his wife of 56 years began arguing on the way home from Potawatomi Bingo and Casino. He alleged she began calling him a \"jerk off\", because he could no longer give her a \"good time\". Lang claims his wife's verbal abuse continued the entire trip back home.

The criminal complaint states Lang \"just lost it\" when he got home. Police say Lang told them he loved his wife, but couldn't take it anymore. That's when he got a .22 caliber gun and allegedly shot his wife in the face. Then Lang attempted to shot himself in the head, but only grazed himself after three shots. Lang says the shooting happened five to ten minutes after they got home from the casino.

Lang allegedly told 911 dispatchers he shot his wife and himself.

If convicted, Lang could spend the rest of his life in prison.
