BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A large fire started at a vacant 20-unit multi-family building near Dean and Teutonia Avenue Saturday afternoon, Nov. 22, before 2 p.m.
North Shore firefighters responded to the Stratford Village Town Homes and upon arrival, fire personnel found a heavy volume of fire coming from the roof of the building.
The building was vacant following the August flood, but construction crews have been working on the building to repair the flood damage.
Sherry Stallworth, who lives next to the complex, told CBS 58 the building was vacant following the August flood.
"I just know nobody's there, so how it would catch on fire?" said Stallworth. "And then I just went outside, and I just kept hearing sirens and I'm like, why is there sirens so close? I didn't hear anything or see anything at first but then I went out there and I saw the whole building, like oh my gosh."
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
