Shorewood mail carrier fired after throwing away mail

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A mail carrier in Shorewood is out of a job after throwing mail away. 

The mail was returned to the Shorewood Post Office so that it can be delivered. 

According to a spokesman for the Postal Service Office of the Inspector General, they were made aware of this last week. 

Delaying or destroying mail is a federal offense.
