New Restaurant Coming to Potawatomi

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s hotel restaurant, Locavore, has closed and will reopen under a new name and concept July 18.

The new restaurant, Canal Street Café, will offer a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that will feature classic dishes and a space that includes the sights and atmosphere of our hometown—Milwaukee. It will be open daily from 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM.

“We are listening to our guests, and feel that this restaurant will better serve their tastes,” said Rodney Ferguson, Chief Operating Officer. “We are confident the new restaurant will exceed our guests’ wants and needs and provide the menu and service they are looking for.”

Oscar Vega Medina has been named chef at Canal Street Café. Medina has been with Potawatomi Hotel & Casino since March 2015, when he was hired as a sous chef in the property’s production kitchen. Prior to his arrival, he worked at Simple Café, Motor, Bacchus and Ristorante Bartolotta’s. Medina earned his culinary training education in Irapuato, Mexico.
