New partnership including Milwaukee Brewers and American Family Insurance will sponsor July 3 fireworks

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Thanks to a new partnership Milwaukee's traditional July 3 fireworks will return in 2019. The fate of the fireworks had been uncertain after BMO Harris Bank pulled out as the sponsor. 

The new partnership includes the Milwaukee Brewers Foundation, American Family Insurance, Brewers MVP Christian Yelich and T&M Partners.

In addition to the announcement, Christian Yelich has been named a brand ambassador and community partner for American Family Insurance. Yelich is personally making a contribution to allow the fireworks to return. 

“The Brewers and Christian Yelich have had a hot start to the season and this partnership is definitely another home run for Milwaukee. I’m thankful for the partners who came together to help make this happen and we can all look forward to another amazing fireworks display at the lakefront this summer," said Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele.

The partnership for the fireworks is only for 2019 and long term plans are still being discussed.
