New otter exhibit opens at Milwaukee County Zoo

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee County Zoo is now home to three new North American river otters. They’re females named Emerald, Clover, and Shamrock.

The exhibit has two pools, a splash pad, and a 15-foot slide for the otters.

There’s also an underwater viewing area and a place where kids can get an up-close look at the otter’s den.

“They’re so agile, they’re so fun to watch in the water, that we really want people to have that up close experience, connect with them,” said

The exhibit is near the Zoo’s new West Entrance which has more than 500 parking spaces, admissions, and concession stands.

The West Entrance will officially open on Saturday, May 19.
