New Mural Hopes to Spark Opportunities in Milwaukee's Historic Mitchell Street Neighborhood

The Milwaukee Christian Center's Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BNCP) and Southside Neighbors Helping Neighbors (SNHN) unveiled a new mural and green space Tuesday located at 1320 W. Forest Home Ave.

MCC's Building Neighborhood Capacity Program (BNCP) brings positive change to neighborhoods that have historically faced barriers to revitalization.

BNCP helps communities transform themselves into neighborhoods of opportunity by initiating block watch clubs, hosting community dinners, neighborhood clean-ups, and parties where neighbors get to know neighbors.

This past year, BNCP has been working to create a safe and vital community focusing on a 1.5 square mile area of neighborhoods made up of Clarke Square, Muskego Way and Historic Mitchell Street in Milwaukee.

This new mural and green space is their first major resident-driven community project. For residents, this is the start of a learning process that will equip them with the skills they need to improve their neighborhoods far into the future. Please attend our New Mural and Green Space Celebration!
