MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A national historic landmark in downtown Milwaukee is getting an upgrade.
On Wednesday, new signs were unveiled at Turner Hall.
The main new sign is 22 feet long and lights up. Besides the large sign, there are two other new ones advertising the indoor climbing gym and tavern.
Turner Hall was built in 1882. The changes are in part to keep up with the growing neighborhood around Fiserv Forum and offers a contrast between the past and present.
"I can't think of a better location to combine the history of the city of Milwaukee, with the present of the city of Milwaukee, with the future of the city of Milwaukee all here within 100 yards of each other," Mayor Tom Barrett said.
To celebrate the new signs, there will be a $5 fish fry on Friday and an open house on Saturday.
