MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Thursday, June 9, muralist Mauricio Ramirez invited the south side community to add their own touches on one of his latest murals for Children's Wisconsin Forest Home Clinic.
"I'm really excited to work with people coming out and getting their hands in the process," said Ramirez.
The 24 feet by 10 feet tall mural will depict silhouettes of youth in the community. Ramirez will use his signature geometric low poly artistic style and bright colors to represent the diversity on the south side.
"We brought in Mauricio because we wanted some art that was representative of the community and hopefully when kids walk in they can see themselves in the art work," said Mariana Valadez, project manager for Forest Home Clinic.
For Ramirez this project hits home, who spent his summers on the south side when he was younger. He said the project will be completed in the next three days. On Friday, the community is invited again to add their own artistic touches to the mural.
