MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- People who come from out of town for treatment at Milwaukee County's medical complex know all about Kathy's House.
Now, a new and much bigger Kathy's House is about to open next Monday, June 7.
It's located close to Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
It has 36 guest rooms, where families from outside the Milwaukee area can stay affordably when their loved ones face a medical crisis.
Steve and Lisa Peters of Oshkosh took advantage of the old Kathy's House years ago, when Steve needed chemotherapy for cancer. They're thrilled about the new place.
"To see now, this new facility double in size, and know that there's gonna be twice as many people that are gonna have to use this, just like I had to use this, and are gonna be all taken care of," said Steve Peters.
"The suites, the access to having lab draws here, right in the building, for the guests. Everything, it's just, it's beautiful," said Lisa Peters.
The new Kathy's House welcomes its first guests on Monday.
