New facility in Milwaukee to bring hands-on experience, training in construction work

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson got a tour of the city's new training facility for water infrastructure construction.

The employee-designed water works facility includes a classroom with more than a dozen modules that mirror real world situations.

The hope is more trainees will encounter the training center and the more prepared they'll be.

The training facility is able to simulate employees working in tight quarters, all kinds of weather, and on the same kinds of pipe and infrastructure they'll encounter in the field.
