New electronics for Christmas? Here's what you do with the old ones

MILWAUKEE -- Now that you've set up that brand new, big screen television and laptop with all the bells and whistles, you may be wondering what to do with the old TV and laptop.

You have a few options, but tossing the electronics into the trash isn't one of them.

Consumer electronics were banned from Wisconsin landfills in 2010 and crews will not take them if you put them in the trash.

In Milwaukee, the items are \"e-cycled\" through the city's self-help centers, free for city residents to use.

In Wauwatosa, residents can drop off used electronics at Goodwill.

Check with your municipality to see what the \"e-cycle\" options are.
