Milwaukee, WIS. (CBS 58) -- New details are being released about the bar where a fight broke out that led to the deadly shooting of a 20-year-old man.

This past weekend, police confirmed the bar is in nuisance status.

The victim's family is accusing the Kana Mojito Bar of allowing their underage son to get into the bar without checking for a proper ID. It appears the bar is getting a track record for these types of incidents.

Milwaukee Licenses Committee reviewed video last year that showed a woman being assaulted in Kana Mojito Club. The assault took place on October 15th inside the woman's bathroom at the club. The victim was 20-years-old. The bar owner's lawyer explained that security had denied her and a friend entry into the club but they asked to use the bathroom and that's when the fight happened.

"The egregiousness of this offense is certainly concerning to us not only from the perspective of underage persons being inside this establishment but also from the viciousness of the attack and the substantial injuries sustained by the victim including a broken orbital socket, brain trauma, sprained elbow and multiple abrasions," said Cpt. Heather Wurth with the Milwaukee Police Department.

Police were also concerned that the bar owner didn't call and report the incident.

"The police were never summoned regardless of the fact that the victim reportedly left the establishment," Cpt. Wurth said.

The bar was then given a nuisance status but the bar owner argued that the incident was an isolated event and that they would get ID scanners to keep underage patrons out.

With the condition of the added security features, the club's license was renewed and it was given a 10-day suspension.

The bar's license is now up for renewal in December but after last weekend's incident, the City Licenses Committee may be holding a special hearing to discuss the bar's licensing going forward.
