MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) -- A new art exhibit is celebrating the work of nearly two dozen nonprofits in the Milwaukee area.
It's called "The Giving Gallery" and was commissioned by Northwestern Mutual.
The exhibit is honoring non-profits that have benefitted from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation in the past 25 years.
Each nonprofit was given a grant to commission a piece of art that represents their work in the community.
"Art inspires empathy. It allows you to see the world through someone else's eyes so each artist interpreted the work of each nonprofit in some really unique ways," said Lynn Heimbruch with Northwestern Mutual.
The artwork will be on display in the Northwestern Mutual Tower Commons.
The exhibit is free and will open to the public next Thursday.
