New App helps collect date on foreclosed homes

The foreclosure crisis hit the city of Milwaukee especially hard. Now a Milwaukee man has come up with a new app that helps addresses the issue.

The app is called Vacant Voices.  It uses crowd sourcing to collect information on housing problems in any given neighborhood. The information collected can make it easier for community development organizations to figure out how to fix the problem.

You can take pictures of abandoned homes, and report the problems with it.

\"We have so many abandoned  homes, or we have so many properties that create blight, how do we prioritize which properties to focus on? The data that this application collects can facilitate that type of decision making,\" said creator Santanu Singh.

Right now,the app is mainly being used in Southeast Wisconsin. For more information you can visit Vacantvoices.com
