’You’ll never regret what you find’: Families continue...
People living near 235th Avenue and 62nd Street in Paddock Lake are cleaning up after water rushed into their basements.
"I have a lake in my back yard with a river running through it," said Linda.
A garbage can and boat washed up onto Linda's yard.
Neighbors in the area said they had been up since 5:00 a.m. trying to prevent water from coming into their homes. Tina Crittenden has lived in Paddock Lake for years and she says the flooding has never been this bad.
"This is the first time we've actually had an incident where our basement actually flooded since the last 6 years we've lived here. The rain was just horrible," said Crittenden.
To make things worse, their power was out for hours.
But during the time they were left in the dark, they came together. "We all come together you know what we mean. We try to do what we can for each other," said Crittenden.
Neighbors stepped in to help Linda pump the water from her basement.
"I really, really appreciate it," said Linda.
Power was restored near 235th and 62nd Street around 1:00 p.m.
