MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two MVP's, one city.
That's the concept of the mural Shawn DeKay is painting on a mural in the Walker's Point neighborhood.
“I’m adding Giannis, hopefully future MVP this year," he said.
Dekay is revamping the mural. Last year, he painted Milwaukee Brewers player and NL MVP Christian Yelich on the wall when the team made the playoffs. He felt it was only right to now add Milwaukee’s other top athlete, Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"He's definitely a forerunner for it, and I jumped the gun with Yelich too."
The mural is located near 4th and National on the side of his business, a coffee shop and creative space called, ‘Dream Lab.’
So far, DeKay has put in about 14 hours into the work of art and has many more to go. It's a large piece, spanning two stories.
"I'm gonna do 'Milwaukee' under the windows there,” he said. “I would love to hang some championship banners if we go ahead and bring one home this year."
DeKay says his unique street art is about bringing the city of Milwaukee together.
"The kids, the adults can walk by this mural see two of the most iconic sports players of both leagues this year on the same wall. I think its cool, you can take a picture in front of it, tell stories about it," he said.
The mural should be finished by early next week.
