Wet start to the last week of September
SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Numerous communities across southeast Wisconsin are evacuating residents after rising rivers due to rain, melting snow and ice jams have caused flooding.
Here is a list of communities dealing with flooding including road closures and evacuations.
FOND DU LAC: Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue had to bring in assistance from surrounding departments. They have had a total of 156 water rescue team members working including 66 with Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue. Numerous roads in Fond du Lac are closed.
DODGE COUNTY: The City of Columbus in Dodge County has shut down the bridge near Highway 16 and 60 due to high water. Power will be shut down on Campbell Street due to the high water. Residents who live on Campbell Street, Baden Street, Chisholm and River Road are asked to evacuate since the Crawfish River is expected to rise. Displaced residents can go to the Columbus Community Building. Pets can be taken to the Columbus Fireman's Park Pavilion.
SHEBOYGAN: The Sheboygan River has flooded in several spots due to ice dams. Indiana Avenue is closed between 25th Street and County Highway A including the intersection of Taylor Drive and Indiana Avenue. New Jersey Avenue is closed between Taylor Frontage Road and 17th Street. Kiwanis Park Drive between 17th Street and Kiwanis Park Road is closed.
