Multiple doses of Narcan needed to save two men in Greenfield

On Thursday, June 29 at 1:29 AM Greenfield Police Officer Brock Beal came across a car parked in a local apartment complex. Upon checking the car, the officer found two men who were unresponsive.

The officer was able to gain entry into the vehicle and assess that the men in their early 20s were barely breathing. The officer quickly called for paramedics and began life saving procedures, including administering the medicine Narcan to block the effects of opiates.

After more doses of Narcan were delivered by the officer, Greenfield Fire Paramedics arrived on scene and took over medical care of the men.

Both men are being treated at a local hospital while the officer is preparing a case against them for heroin possession.
