3 Multi-Agency Resource Centers available for people affected by recent floods
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Here in Milwaukee this week, the American Red Cross of Wisconsin is hosting three Multi-Agency Resource Centers for people affected by the recent flooding in southeastern Wisconsin and Milwaukee.
The Multi-Agency Resource Centers or MARCS will allow several agencies to help people navigate a host of issues like Medicaid, insurance and food security.
The Red Cross is still seeing a strong need for resources after the floods.
Last night 48 people who cannot return to their homes stayed at an overnight shelter. Because the flooding was so widespread, the Red Cross is trying to reach as many people as possible.
This is affecting entire neighborhoods," said Jennifer Warren of the American Red Cross. "So that's why we have three different MARCS throughout the city, to make it convenient for people."
People are asked to bring a driver's license or utility bill to show they live in an impacted neighborhood.
The locations and times of the centers are:
- Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at King Community Center - 1531 W. Vilet St. Milwaukee, Wis.
- Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at McCarty Park Pavilion - 2657 S. 78th St. West Allis, Wis.
- Saturday, Sept. 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Mary Ryan Boys and Girls Club - 3000 N. Sherman Blvd. Milwaukee, Wis.
