First Monday back to work and handling post-holiday blues
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A group of Milwaukee Public School students will work as paid interns at Milwaukee's airport this summer.
They're learning about careers in the aviation industry.
Student interns with the Aviation Careers Education program were introduced at Mitchell International Airport Tuesday
The ACE program is a partnership between Mitchell International Airport, Milwaukee Public Schools, and the State of Wisconsin.
The 35 students will work in different areas. Intern Kylie Miller is back for a second year, working with firefighters who are on duty at the airport.
"I did all the responsibilities that the firefighters did," Kylie said. "Checking trucks, going on calls and alerts, training and things like that -- cooking, cleaning, all the fun stuff that's involved with the job."
Some students will work with TSA security officers, the 128th air refueling wing, different airlines and even one of the gift shops.
