UPDATE: Missing Milwaukee woman found safe

UPDATE: Ms. Portwood was found Sunday afternoon near 60th and Capitol. She was staying with friends and found safe.


A Silver Alert has been issued for a 72-year-old Milwaukee woman believed to have dementia.  The Milwaukee Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Georgia Portwood.  She was last seen in the area of N 37th Street and W Sheridan Avenue around 7 AM on Friday, August, 4 when she went for a walk and never returned. Portwood is described as 5’9” tall, 140 pounds with a medium build and short curly gray hair.  She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black flip flops. Portwood has a scar on the front of her neck. She frequents the areas of N 86th Street and W Fond du Lac Avenue and N 80th and W Clovernook Streets.
