MPD: Passenger critically injured after driver crashes into car, utility pole

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police are currently investigating a two-car crash.

Around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Milwaukee Police saw a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lane on Atkinson.

Police say the car was traveling at approximately 80 MPH.

Before the police squad was able to take action, the speeding vehicle collided with another vehicle and then a utility pole.

The front passenger of the speeding vehicle is in critical condition. The driver of that vehicle was taken into custody and is being treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit was not injured. The passenger was treated for a laceration to the head.
