MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new traffic enforcement effort was announced by the Milwaukee Police Department.
Chief Ed Flynn announced it live on the CBS 58 News at 4. It was a response to a large number of serious traffic accidents in the city this year.
The Chief says the new effort, which he referred to as a "surge", will go through the end of the year.
"What we're going to do is overlay an enhanced traffic enforcement effort with our anti-crime efforts....a large percentage of our hotspots for car accidents and reckless driving are located with our crime hotspots," said Chief Ed Flynn with the Milwaukee Police Department.
