MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating two non-fatal shootings that occurred within several blocks of each other but appear to be unrelated.
At 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, a 27-year-old man arrived at a hospital with a serious gunshot wound. After a preliminary investigation, authorities believe the shooting happened near N. 35th St. and W. Wright St. Police say the victim was a passenger in a car when someone shot him. The victim is expected to be okay.
A short time later around 9:40 p.m., police were alerted of another shooting near N. 35st St. and W. Clarke St. When officers got to the scene, they found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound. The victim says he was walking in the area when he heard several gunshots and was hit. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated.
Authorities continue to investigate both shootings. At this time, they do not believe the shootings are related.
