MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Police are looking for a man suspected in two attempted sexual assaults near the east side of Milwaukee.

MPD says they believe the incidents are connected.

Both women gave police very similar descriptions of the suspect.

Milwaukee police say they believe the same man is responsible for both.

MPD says they were called to the intersection of Bremen and Wright around 12:40 Wednesday morning.

There they spoke to a 37-year old woman who told them she was held at gunpoint and forced to take off her clothes.

The woman escaped.

About two hours later, and less than a mile away, another woman was attacked.

Police say she was walking near Oakland and North when a man approached her and pushed her to the ground.

The woman fought off the man and he ran away.

Police believe both incidents are connected.

We spoke with a man who lives near Bremen and Wright.

He says he heard about the assault on Facebook and is going to keep an extra eye out for when he and his girlfriend walk the dog after dark.

“It’s just one of those things that makes it concerning to be out and about out here late at night. Which normally isn’t the best thing to do, and after you live around here for a couple years you kind of learn to be more savvy about that,” said Eric Klosterman. “For something like this to happen is pretty alarming. I think that you probably just have to be more vigilant about if you’re coming home late to just watch out for any nasty surprises.”

If anyone has any information about the suspect or the attacks you’re asked to call Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS.

Your call is always anonymous.
