MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department held a pancake fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 14 to help raise money for the family of fallen officer Peter Jerving.
Jerving was shot and killed in the line of duty back in February.
Sargent Paul Graczyk told us they are trying to raise money so Jerving's loved ones can attend national police week in Washington D.C.
It is a time to honor fallen police officers like Jerving, who are always in their hearts.
"We take Pete with us every day, he was an awesome officer, he was a beacon of light in our assembly in the mornings when we started our shift," said Graczyk. "His smile could light up a room, and his laugh was infectious, so you don't ever really recover from that."
All proceeds will go to the Fallen Heros Fund.
